Our 2024 production: SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, featuring a comic double bill of Adolphe Adam’s The Chalet and the world premiere of The Boor by EChO resident composer Francis L. Lynch, closed on Saturday, March 2.

OPERATIONS SUSPENDED

Evanston Chamber Opera will not mount a production in 2025. Founder Francis Lynch has notified the board of directors that he is stepping down from his role as general manager, executive director, and producer. The company will suspend operations indefinitely until further notice. We thank you, one and all, for your support over the seven-year history of the company.

ABOUT US

Formed as an Illinois Not-For-Profit corporation on August 9, 2017, Evanston Chamber Opera Company (EChO) seeks to enrich, educate, and entertain the residents of Evanston, Illinois, and its neighboring communities by promoting and staging chamber operas, operettas, and other theatrical works with significant musical content. By focusing on new works and neglected gems from the past, EChO gives audiences an opportunity to expand their opera experience beyond the standard repertoire.
